Cycle 4 Sam Sponsorship

Congratulations to all involved in yet another successful Cycle 4 Sam ride. Despite having to deal with some extreme weather conditions, the riders managed to complete more than 800km of their journey and raise a staggering $80,000 in the process!

Cycle 4 Sam is a biennial ride, organised by The Sam Roberts Family Fund to raise funds for the Paediatric Palliative Care Service of the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Since starting in 2006, more than $580,000 has been raised through its fund-raising and epic bike rides. The Sam Roberts Family Fund is dedicated to the memory of Sam Roberts who passed away on April 19, 2005 at the age of 4 years 10 months after a courageous battle with Niemann-Pick Disease Type C, a rare neurological degenerative disease of which there is no cure. There are only 500 known cases of this disease in the world. You can watch Sam’s story here.

The 2016 ride started in Torquay in Victoria on Monday 3rd October taking in the Great Ocean Road, the Grampians National Park and the Coorong National Park and finishing on the lawns of the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital on Sunday October 9.

Congratulations once again to the riders, fundraisers and support crew for this amazing achievement. A job well done.

cycle-for-samAlong with family and friends, the team at Nieuvision Adelaide Central had an amazing time at Cycle 4 Sam’s Supernova fundraiser on Saturday 3rd September which raised $14,000 for the Teamkids Beach House Project.

Not only did everyone have a great time but some were lucky enough to take home some wonderful cycling memorabilia, including the Australian Cycling Suit worn by local champion, Anna Meares, when she won the Silver Medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

We’re completely in awe of everyone involved with The Sam Roberts Family Fund and their dedication to raising funds for the Paediatric Palliative Care Service of the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

This year funds raised will be going towards the Team Kids Beach House Project which is aimed at giving children with life limiting or long term illness and their families some treasured time together.
